Scanning Limitations and Best Practices

What scans cannot guarantee and how to get cleaner results.

Last updated 2026-10-31

Limitations

  • Dynamic apps, geo-specific content, and bot defenses can change what a scan sees.
  • Third parties may ignore consent signals even when your banner records a choice.
  • Quick depth never proves reject/accept/withdraw behavior.

Best practices

  1. Verify DNS before Standard/Deep.
  2. Keep Domain Rules updated after major tag changes.
  3. Force a new scan after publishing consent or tag changes.
  4. Re-read Consent Verification after CMP changes.
  5. Document remediation outside Nektur when engineering work happens in other systems.
